Will Yard Commander YMS work for multiple yards/facilities?

With Yard Commander Basic you can track any number of yards at a single facility. Yard Commander Pro enables you to track multiple facilities with multiple yards using the same account.

Do I need to buy any special equipment, servers, etc?

No. Yard Commander YMS is a hosted service. All that is required is a computer with a modern browser and access to the Internet.

How many users can we have?

There is no limit to the number of users you can have. With Yard Commander Pro, you can use role based authorization to grant users access to specific functions, locations and even carriers. You can create logins for carriers or other partners which can be restricted so they can only see their own trailers and have read-only access to the dashboard.

Is the website secure?

Your data is safe. Data transferred to and from our server is secured using industry standard SSL encryption. You manage who has access to your data by controlling logins and authorization levels. Your data is replicated on a secondary server in real-time and regular backups are scheduled to keep your data safe.

How long does it take to setup?

The setup depends on your readiness. We require about one day to setup and get you ready to go.

What if I lose Internet connectivity?

It is recommended you have a contingency plan in the event of an outage. However with Yard Commander YMS you do have 2 simple options. First, our service can be used on many mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets. As long as these devices have a data plan through a cellular network, you’ll be able to continue using the software. Another option is to manually track data and enter it in once Internet access is restored. Although Yard Commander YMS tracks exact transaction date/time, we also allow you to choose the actual event date/time.

Can Yard Commander YMS be integrated with other software?

Yard Commander YMS was designed to integrate seamlessly with other systems (e.g. WMS, MRP/ERP, EDI). Please contact us to discuss your specific needs.

Do you provide technical support?

Yes and it is included in your monthly subscription fee.
